Campus for All: Foundations of Free Speech & Academic Freedom

This comprehensive, interactive session is the core of PEN America's "Campus for All" workshops. During the workshop led by a PEN America facilitator, participants will:

- Lay a strong foundation for the legal framework of the First Amendment, principles of free speech and academic freedom, and unprotected speech such as harassment or threats.
- Learn approaches for supporting a hospitable environment for free speech, academic freedom, and inclusive community in tandem on campus.
- Link free speech and academic freedom directly to the unique mission and goals of higher education.
