Black Lives Matter Brazil-USA

Mellon Visiting Professor Silvio Luiz de Almeida arrived at Duke this spring, he partnered with History Professor John French to offer students a timely, global look at the parallel struggles for racial justice in Brazil and the United States – two countries in the Western Hemisphere with the largest Afro-descended populations. The virtual exhibit highlights an international dimension of struggles for rights and recognition by Black people in two of the world's largest democracies.
