Congratulations to William Darity on finalist selection for annual Association for the Study of African American Life and History Book Award

ASLAH Book Prize

Congratulations to William Darity Jr. and co-writer Kirsten Mullen for being named finalists for the annual Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) book award for From Here to Equality: Reparations for Black Americans in the Twenty-First Century. The ASALH Book Prize will recognize an outstanding book that engages the archival record to illuminate and analyze African Americans’ social, political, and cultural realities. While an engagement with archives is required, the selection committee welcomes scholarship from across disciplinary and interdisciplinary boundaries. A call for submissions went out in Spring 2020 and the selection committee received over sixty eligible books, all of which engaged archival sources while representing many disciplinary and interdisciplinary orientations. Read more about the honor here and be prepared to view their ceremony on February 10th.
