The Centennial event celebrated remarkable trailblazers including Dr. Joanne Wilson, a leading advocate for health and climate change; Dr. Samuel DuBois Cook, the first Black faculty member, honored through the Samuel DuBois Cook Society and Center on Social Equity; and Claudius "CB" Claiborne, Duke's inaugural Black basketball player, inspiring resilience and now a distinguished professor at Texas Southern University since 1969.
